The Sorry State of the Paycheck Protection Program

Today was supposed to be the day that the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) rolled out at banks and fintech lenders across the US; but that is not really happening; the US Treasury was only able to get final guidance out at 7pm ET last night and most banks said that was not enough time for them to be ready to launch this morning; fintech lenders, while eager to participate in the PPP have found the terms challenging and many have indicated they will not be able to apply; it is critically important for the future of small business in this country that this program is rolled out quickly and smoothly; every day that it is delayed will likely results in hundreds of thousands of more jobs lost.
