Santander to Acquire Majority Stake in Spain’s Mercury TFS

Santander will acquire a controlling interest of 50.1% in Spanish trade finance software house Mercury TFS with a €30 million investment; Santander has been a customer of Mercury for years in Spain, Mexico, Chile and Germany; the head of Santander’s global payments services, Javier San Félix, said they are looking to take Mercury TFS global and that “the investment accelerates our plans to build a service platform for SMEs and international companies to better serve our customers worldwide”.
