PayPal is Buying European Fintech Leader iZettle for $2.2 Billion

PayPal is looking to raise the stakes against competitors like Square and Stripe in what will be their largest acquisition ever. iZettle is the Sweden-based leader in brick and mortar point of sale transactions and it is often referred to as the Square of Europe. Like Square it also has a small business cash advance business. The $2.2 billion acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter. Source.
