OakNorth Discusses Plans to License Technology to U.S. Banks

One of the UK’s hottest startups in the digital banking space is now bring their technology to the U.S. banking market; “People look at what we’ve done in the U.K. and they say there’s real proof,” CEO Rishi Khosla said in an interview with American Banker. “To have built an institution from scratch, which is now providing 20-to-30% return on equity, there aren’t many in the banking space to have had that type of return.”; the interview also touches on the objective of going global, why they decided to come to the U.S. now, why license their technology instead of going the bank charter route and much more.
