New Data Shows UK 3rd in Alternative Finance Globally

The Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) does the most in depth research on alternative finance across the globe; their recent report showed that the UK is the most active country in Europe and third globally; they posted $10.4 billion in transaction volumes in 2018 or 57% of the total European market; the study included 1,227 firms and 87 of them were based in the UK; Dr Robert Wardrop, co-founder and director of the CCAF stated, “This global report sheds light on the evolving landscape and market dynamics of the online alternative finance industry which are now providing substantial sources of funding for consumers, start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises, and industrial verticals ranging from the manufacturing sector to creative industries.” Altfi
