Insurtech leader Lemonade has filed to go public; the company is backed by an A-list group of venture capitalists including SoftBank, Sequoia, General Catalyst and more; unlike many other insurtech companies Lemonade is actually a full service insurance provider looking to disrupt both business and consumer insurance; Techcrunch analyzed the Lemonade S-1 as it provides, for the first time, details into the financial status of the business; while the company continues to lose money as it spends heavily on sales and marketing, revenue is increasing at a faster percentage; the IPO window has opened and Lemonade intends to take full advantage.
