At LendIt Fintech USA 2018, in his first public appearance as the new SoFi CEO, Anthony Noto spoke with Emily Chang of Bloomberg about what attracted him to the company after so many years at Twitter; what he saw was a passion for the business from their members and a company that was growing and doing well; he realized there were some cultural issues that came to a head in 2017 but by the time he had started many of these issues were already being dealt with; he said that of the 20 most valuable private tech companies in Silicon Valley, SoFi is the only company that grew revenue by more than 30%, had positive EBITDA, positive GAAP net income and positive cash flow in 2017.
