Christopher Woolard Heads FCA Until Long Term Leader is Found

The Financial Conduct Authority’s thinker in chief was named interim Chief Executive with Andrew Bailey moving on to become the next Bank of England Governor; Woolard has been with the FCA since its creation in 2013 as it was created from the discredited Financial Services Authority; Mr Woolard said in a statement to the FT: “We have a huge job to do and I’m looking forward to working with the board and colleagues across the FCA as we continue to deliver the FCA’s mission.”; Woolard, along with the FCA’s Head of Supervision, are tapped to be two of the candidates under consideration for the role.
