Chime Creates Pilot to Get $1,200 Stimulus Checks to Users Instantly

The most popular digital banking startup, Chime, has created a pilot program that allows its user to receive their $1,200 federal stimulus checks instantly, weeks before the government is expected to start the payments; the program was opened to 1,000 randomly picked users and they received their payments Thursday through the app’s SpotMe program; the idea for the program came from discussions with entrepreneur Mark Cuban; CEO Chris Britt said, “We think the aggressive action taken by the government is awesome, and we applaud it, but consumers need faster access to that money to pay their bills. We’re putting real dollars on the line, without interest rates or guarantees.” CNBC
